The VBREE Regional Initiative

Virginia has come a long way to increase child care choice, quality, access, and affordability – but child care challenges persist. These gaps require coordinated, cohesive efforts across state, regional, and private sector partners to deliver on the promise of child care and its triple-bottom-line return on investment of school-ready children, work-ready families, and business-ready communities.

The VBREE Regional Initiative harnesses the power of cross-industry regional leaders through regional delegations to identify and implement regional solutions to child care challenges. The VBREE Regional Initiative creates a unified structure for progress across regions toward priority goals to:

  1. Promote child care as essential to Virginia’s modern economy and quality of life priorities.
  2. Accelerate the expanded supply of classrooms, sites, and environments to deliver game-changing child care services.
  3. Substantially upgrade the capabilities within the child care industry and the stature of the early educator profession.

Innovations to build child care supply are underway in regions across the state.

The VBREE Regional Initiative builds on the existing infrastructure of key state and regional partners.
